The competition is a joint project between the National Galleries of Scotland, the English-Speaking Union and the Scottish Poetry Library.

The Poetry GamesA creative writing competition from Young Writers for 11-18 year-olds.
This is a chance to be part of a creative writing experience, from writing a mini saga to the chance of seeing your work in print.
Selected entrants will have the opportunity to have their mini sagas published alongside their peers and other children around the country.

The Robert Burns World Federation/ASLS Annual Awards for Young Writers 2014
The Robert Burns World Federation and the Association for Scottish Literary Studies announce their national competition for young people’s writing, for pupils in S1 and S2.
Pupils should write a short story of not more than 750 words in length. The work may be written in any of the languages of Scotland.
Certificates will be awarded to all entrants to the national competition. The top three entrants will win prizes of £100, £75 and £50 for first, second and third place. The winning pieces will be published in ScotLit and The Burns Chronicle.
